The Gay Agenda has been menacing America ever since. There are videos like Gay Agenda in Schools. (“You may be asking yourself, how will same-sex marriage affect my family? Well, based on the evidence, everything changes when same-sex marriage becomes legal.”)16 There are books like The Gay Agenda: It’s Dividing the Family, the Church, and a Nation. (“Beware, administrators, teachers, students, and parents! The gay lifestyle is being actively promoted in books, by speakers, in seminar themes . . . in fact, it’s everywhere.”)17 And The Homosexual Agenda: Exposing the Principal Threat to Religious Freedom Today. (“Whether SpongeBob is actually homosexual or not is irrelevant.”)18 And of course there are speeches and sermons and blogs and many, many letters to editors. (“The ‘Gay Agenda’ is far reaching and encompasses every other liberal agenda there is.”)19 Justice Antonin Scalia even alluded to the gay agenda in a brooding Supreme Court dissent in which he grumbled that the Court had “signed on to the so-called homosexual agenda.”ag20
Of course, the gay agenda is not just about rimming and fisting and frolicking in fountains of urine. These folks mean business. According to James Dobson, the primary objective of the homosexual activists’ “master plan” is “the utter destruction of the family.” Subsidiary goals include “muzzling of the clergy and Christian media,” “granting of special privileges and rights in the law,” “overturning laws prohibiting pedophilia,” and “indoctrination of children.”21 What about legal recognition of monogamous love between two members of the same sex? Don’t be naïve. According to Dobson, who as a psychologist knows a lot about homosexuality, “most gays and lesbians do not want to marry each other.” Same-sex marriage, he explained, is a ruse. The gay agenda’s true intention is to destroy marriage altogether. That way, everyone could enjoy the benefits of marriage “without limiting the number of partners or their gender.”22
Dobson’s description of the future of marriage sounds like some sort of depraved communal living arrangement, as if the casts of Queer Eye, The L-Word, and Big Love were to move in with The Brady Bunch, resulting in a new swimming pool and a radical redesign of Mr. Brady’s den. Of course, we all know what communal living will do to the nation’s capitalist economy. Rep. Steve King (R-IA) certainly knows:
If there’s a push for a socialist society where the foundations of individual rights and liberties are undermined and everybody is thrown together living collectively off one pot of resources earned by everyone, this is one of the goals they have to go to, same sex marriage, because it has to plow through marriage in order to get to their goal . . . Not only is it a radical social idea, it is a purely socialist concept in the final analysis.23
So basically, the gay agenda is about establishing a new social order in which the once proud United States collapses into a degenerate pile of socialistic communes-from-hell in which men, women, children, and promiscuous ducks spend their days eating one another’s feces. Giddy up.
Save Our Children
So we’ve got the slippery slope to bestiality and polyandrous communes. We’ve got the secret plot, commonly known as the gay agenda, that guides the nation down the incremental steps to Sodom and Gomorrah II: Stalin’s Revenge. What about persecution? Obviously, the gay agenda is hostile to Christianity, but to fully appreciate the suffering of traditional Americans who have been victimized by the gay agenda, we will need to step back in time. It begins, as usual, with the children.
