Peet asked Genora for film ideas. She believed he should make a documentary on the integration struggle in the United States and what remained to be done before full equality was realized; the “hillbillies” who had come up from the South to work in the Flint auto plants would make a good subject, as would the establishment of the twelve missions in California by the Jesuits.
