the camp, Otto told him, “Music was the only thing that kept me alive.”

Otto told Gus, “Music is the heart of the soul. It makes human beings remember where they come from.”

Pam wrote that all the pieces of her father’s message began to fit together. She knew that her father was with Otto and that Otto was teaching him the piano. The song she hummed was a song that her father had composed after he returned from the war.

LIFE GUIDES

Once ghosts leave the lower realms and travel into the higher spiritual planes, they meet a variety of other spirits of a higher nature. Mainly, these spirits act as guides to us on earth and are able to influence our thoughts and actions in positive ways. Some guides are connected to us throughout our soul’s evolution; others are attracted to us because of the lessons we are here to learn. All guides are continuously evolving in their own right, and as part of their spiritual growth, they want to convey their knowledge and insight to many of us on earth. The following is a list of different types of spiritual guides.

Helper Guides

Helper guides influence and assist us by bringing out the innate talents imbedded within our soul’s makeup. Usually, these guides had similar talents while on earth; their job now is to help the living utilize their abilities to the utmost and gain a clearer understanding of their talents, which can be anything from accounting to medicine to singing. In my workshops, I suggest that people call forth their helper guides when they are working on a project or just need help in their job. In Greek mythology, a helper guide is called a “muse”—a guide who assists us in reaching our dreams.

Relationship Guides

Relationship guides work with our unique energy vibration to open our hearts to love so that we can share our lives with another. They guide us in attracting persons with whom we are karmically connected. We may have lessons to learn with certain people, or there may be strong love bonds that have been carried over from other lifetimes. Also, we have many soul mates, not just one, and each soul mate is a part of our soul group. A soul mate bears gifts in the form of life lessons. Relationship guides always bring the right people to us at the right time. There are no mistakes. Every person in our lives is there for a reason. Every person we meet on earth is a potential teacher, even though we may not think so at the time, especially if those lessons are unpleasant and uncomfortable. Relationship guides also teach us to appreciate ourselves. When we feel worthy, we can understand the nature of true, unconditional love.

Family Guides

So often people come up to me and say, “I didn’t choose my family.” Oh, but yes, we do. Although this may be a challenge for some, we choose our family members before we enter the earth existence. In fact, our families have been with us through many lifetimes. It is interesting to know that souls travel collectively in groups. They often wait until they are all together on the other side so that when they decide to travel back to earth, they will arrive around the same time. Our families are a part of our soul group, and the experiences we share with our family members are probably the most difficult to understand and the most important to master.

I find that there is a lot of unfinished business among families because so much of the work that I do is communication with family members. The love bond between one member of a family and another can become even stronger after death. After they pass, many souls reach a realization that they could have been more cooperative, more understanding, or more helpful to their family. They sense that they could have been a better parent, husband, or child. It is very common for family members to decide to make up for their earthly mistakes by helping their families from the other side, becoming their spiritual guide.

A MOTHER’S LOVE
