Ghosts Among Us - James Van Praagh [81]
General Thoughts
Imagine that you are sitting by a pond and you throw a pebble into the water. What happens? Instantly, ripples flow outward in all directions. Thoughts are like ripples: they resonate in the minds of others. When someone transmits positive and loving thoughts, these thoughts are received by others and produce similar thoughts of love. Alternatively, someone whose heart is filled with hatred and jealousy transmits discordant thoughts and stirs up hatred and jealousy in the minds and hearts of those with similar thoughts.
Sending Thoughts
A thought is a living thing. When you think it, it’s as if you’re shooting a bullet into someone’s energy field. I have seen thousands of people come to my workshops with auras filled with psychic debris and thought forms from their family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. There is strength and power in thoughts, and we must learn to use them wisely and for everyone’s benefit. “With your thoughts you can either build or destroy.”
Positive Thoughts
A wonderful example of using your thoughts in a positive and loving way is when you send prayers of healing to another. Prayers and thoughts of healing are the whispers of unconditional love directed at someone to bring about a positive reaction in them. In all my group meditations, I direct positive energy toward everyone in the room. It’s amazing how differently people feel after the meditation is over. They feel more open and loving.
Negative Thoughts
The same is true for using the creative force of thought in a negative way. Curses are an example of sending negative thoughts. A curse goes out to a person or place with all the emotional negativity behind it and attaches to that person or place. It can also fuel the negativity that already exists in that person and place. It is important to note that if you send out negative thoughts, you will receive back what you have created.
The Intention of Thoughts
The dictionary defines intention as: “conception of a thing formed first by the direct application of the mind to the individual object, idea, or image. It is a stretching or bending of the mind toward an object.” Another word we could substitute for intention is manifestation. The objective is the same. An intention gives the thought its direction. You state what you choose to create with your thought. To get the most benefit out of your intention, you must make it extremely specific and clear. You do not want to leave any room for generalities. You want to manifest your thought into the material world exactly as you designed it, so never leave out the details. You might be quite surprised by what you get if you do. Remember that, with intention, you are shaping your thought. Imagine that you are building a house. You have the thought of the house, the design, the size, and the location. All these intentions are bringing your thought one step closer to manifestation. In this case, it would be the foundation of the house. How can you build a house without a foundation? So intention forms the thought.
Thought Focus
Remember that you are a creative individual and that whatever you focus your mind on will come to pass. It is amazing how this works. If you want something in your life, first you must think of it, put your intention behind it, and keep your focus on it. It is almost like baking a cake. The thought is in the oven, but you have to keep it baking with belief. You have to see your thought manifesting and becoming real. The ingredients, or specifics, of your thought help to clarify and expedite its manifestation.
Emotions Are Needed
The more emotion you put into your thought, the more power it has to manifest. Emotion is the extra energy needed to propel your thought into reality. When you visualize your thought becoming a reality, how does it make you feel emotionally? This works all the time. Children play “make-believe,” but they are living their game as if it were real. You too must play make-believe so that your dream becomes real. You have the right to live
