Rotelle Pasta
1/2 (16-ounce) bag Trader Joe’s

1/2 (4-ounce) package Trader
Joe’s Sliced Prosciutto
1 (6.7-ounce) jar Trader Giotto’s
Pesto alla Genovese (basil pesto)
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground

Because both the pesto and prosciutto are relatively salty, taste the pasta before adding any salt.
1. Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the rotelle to the water and cook for 8 minutes. Add the peas to the boiling water with the pasta and cook until the pasta is al dente (see page 153), about 2 minutes longer. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain the pasta and peas in a colander.
2. Shred the prosciutto into bite-size pieces.
3. Transfer the pasta and peas back to the pot and add the pesto, reserved pasta water, and pepper. Stir constantly to let the pesto incorporate with the pasta and peas. Warm over low heat, as needed. Top with the shredded prosciutto.

A quick, basic tomato sauce should be in everyone’s cooking arsenal. The spicy Italian sausage is an easy addition that makes this feel like a full meal.
1. Pour the tomatoes into a bowl and break the whole tomatoes into 2 to 3 pieces each.
2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a medium skillet over medium heat until shimmering, then add the onion and cook for 30 to 45 seconds, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Add the tomatoes and their liquid, and the sausage, basil, pepper, and vinegar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer until the flavors have combined, 20 to 30 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to the package directions. Drain and toss with the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add the pasta to the sauce and toss to combine.
