Make Me Over_ Getting Real - Leslie Kelly [38]
“Forget it. I didn’t come in here for that, anyway. I came to ask you to call Luther for me.” Then she remembered what he’d said. “But if there’s no cameras, maybe I could use your phone after all.”
He shook his head. “No.” Then he reached for a pen and paper on the table next to his bed. “But if you write down the number, I’ll call and see if he’s able to come to the phone. That’ll tell you something. Will that satisfy you?”
She snorted at the way he put that while she wrote down the number. “Satisfy me? Huh. You should know better than anyone what satisfies me.”
Drew closed his eyes. She could practically hear him counting to ten, and almost regretted taunting him again. She definitely regretted it when he responded with a throaty whisper. “If that’s all it takes I’m gonna have a great time satisfying you over and over again until you can’t even remember your own name.”
Tori gasped. She hadn’t expected such a sexy reaction.
He gave her a pitying little smile. “But not now.”
She wanted to throttle him. “Right. You’re still not gonna finish what you started Sunday morning. Same old story.”
He quirked a brow and frowned. “You calling me a tease again?”
She merely shrugged. He was the one who’d put the name on it.
“Because, if I’m not mistaken, you were the only one who walked out of the greenhouse Sunday morning feeling any sort of…relief.”
Heat flooded her cheeks. Darn the man for saying it out loud, as if it wasn’t already embarrassing enough to think about the fact that he’d seen her most private parts—pretty close up—and she hadn’t seen him with so much as his belt unbuckled.
She could, however, remedy that.
“Ahh, ahh,” he said with a shake of his head, as soon as she began reaching for him.
“Maybe I was going for your phone,” she snapped.
“Maybe you were going for my zipper.” His half smile dared her to deny it.
“Maybe a normal man would wish I was.”
His eyes flared a bit, and his smile tightened. A funny throbbing started in his temple and she knew he was gritting his teeth, trying to hold on to his casual laughter and his laid-back attitude.
Her respect for him went up a notch. Not one other man in Tori’s life had ever been very successful at keeping control of his temper. This one was.
“Don’t ever doubt I’m a normal man, Tori,” he warned, his deep breaths and tight tone the only indications of his anger. “I’ve been picturing you naked and open to me every minute of every day this week.”
Her heart tripped a little in her chest.
“I see your face when I close my eyes at night and I dream of burying myself inside you, making love to you until you have to scream at how good it feels.” He stepped closer, lifting her chin with the tip of his finger to make good and sure he had her attention. As if she was capable of tearing it away from his husky voice and the wicked word-pictures he was painting.
“I want to devour you again.”
Oh, mercy.
“I’ve never tasted anything as sweet and wet as your body and I’ve been hungry for more,” he whispered, sounding like a starving man. “I want to feel your mouth on me, too, and I want us to do every erotic, wicked thing we can think of together.”
She drew in a jagged breath, turning her face in his palm until she could press a kiss against his warm skin. Her tongue flicked out to taste him, just a tiny bit of him. He moved his hand, tangling his fingers into her hair and tilted her head back. “Oh, Tori,” he muttered, as if unable to help himself. Then he kissed her, his mouth consuming her, giving and taking until, as he’d threatened, she couldn’t even remember her own name.
When he pulled away, she had to keep her eyes closed, trying to bring the world back into focus as she swayed on unsteady legs. Finally, when she felt capable of thought, she managed one word. One single word. “When?”
He hesitated for a moment, until she opened her eyes and looked at him. The stark, raw want on his face mirrored her own.
“When you can tell me you understand exactly why I waited.”
Then he turned toward the door and walked out of his own room, leaving her there,
