7. Finding a mentor helped Jimmy, in Chapter 6, to live his most inspiring dreams. Do you have a mentor or mentors? If so, how did you get them? What do you seek to learn from them? 8. Almost everyone has experienced trauma in their past. In Chapter 7, Lindsay had to confront trauma in her past to free herself to reach for her dreams. What is the most traumatic experience in your past? Have you come to terms with this difficult experience, or is it still lingering in the back of your mind? 9. Sean, in Chapter 8, was born with bones so fragile they can break if he shakes hands. In spite of this ready-made excuse, he went on to graduate from college, write a book, and create an exercise video! What excuse most keeps you in your comfort zone? Writing this book took two years. I had no idea it would be such an endeavor. I thought I would simply escape to a cozy coffee shop for a few months and capture my thoughts, stories, ideas, and observations. I was wrong. My solitary writing journey became just the opposite. I spent almost the entire two years living out of a suitcase to get a firsthand perspective on my generation’s coming-of-age experience.
