Normandy, Brittany & the Best of the North_ With Paris (Fodor's) - Fodor's [157]
Port-Royal Hôtel.
¢ | The spotless rooms and extra-helpful staff at the Port-Royal are well above average for this price range. Just below the Rue Mouffetard market at the edge of the 13e arrondissement, it may be somewhat removed from the action, but the snug antiques-furnished lounge areas, garden courtyard, and rooms with wrought-iron beds make it worth the trip. Rooms at the lower end of the price range are equipped only with sinks (an immaculate shared shower room is in the hallway). Pros: excellent value for the money; attentive service; typical Parisian neighborhood close to two major markets. Cons: not very central; on a busy street; few amenities. | 8 bd. de Port-Royal | 75005 | 01–43–31–70–06 | 46 rooms, 20 with bath/shower | In-room: no a/c, no TV | No credit cards | Station: Les Gobelins

Hôtel Bonaparte.
$$–$$$ | The congenial staff makes a stay in this intimate hotel a special treat. Old-fashioned upholsteries and 19th-century furnishings make the relatively spacious rooms feel comfortable and unpretentious. Services may be basic, but the location in the heart of St-Germain is fabulous. Light sleepers should request rooms overlooking the courtyard. Pros: upscale shopping neighborhood; large rooms for the Rive Gauche; newly upgraded air-conditioning. Cons: outdated decor and some tired mattresses. | 61 rueBonaparte | 75006 | 01–43–26–97–37 | www.hotelbonaparte.fr | 29 rooms | In-room: a/c, safe, refrigerator, Wi-Fi (some) | MC, V | CP | Station: St-Sulpice
