Prayers for Bobby - Leroy Aarons [111]
There are also some outstanding forums for lesbians and gays, including youth, on both America OnLine and CompuServe. You’ll find a wealth of information on coming to terms with your sexual orientation, coming out, social and political issues, and more. On America OnLine, go to keywords GAY or LESBIAN; on CompuServe, go to the Human Sexuality Forum, keyword HSX100. CompuServe also offers a special, limited-entry forum for lesbian and gay teens, but you’ll need to provide the sysop for the limited-entry HSX200 forum with an E-mail message stating your account name, your age, and the fact that you identify as a lesbian or gay teen.

The Bridges Project is one of the programs of the American Friends Service Committee’s Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Youth Project. It has two major objectives:
to establish a nationwide network of programs and organizations serving diverse gay and lesbian youth and to serve as a powerful national influence on public policy. Its activities in this area include the publication of Crossroads magazine, which supports lesbian and gay youth and links groups with similar challenges. The organization is now involved in the development of a national support line for lesbian and gay youth.
to advocate that youth-serving organizations not currently serving gay and lesbian youth change their practices to do so. Programs in this area include gathering and sharing effective program and policy models, maintaining a list of lesbian and gay youth resources, disseminating print and audiovisual materials, and developing education packages.
