“I Have No Intention Of Marrying You.”

“You might want to think this through carefully,” Quade cautioned.

“There is nothing to think about. I have no plans to get married, especially to you. I don’t even know you.”

“Then I suggest you get to know me. Like it or not, I don’t intend for you or our children not to carry my name.”

“My babies and I have a name. Steele. Thank you very much for your offer, but we don’t need another one. I happen to like the one we have.”

“And I happen to like the name Westmoreland for you and our babies better.”

“Too bad,” she snapped.

“No, too good,” he replied.

And too late, Cheyenne thought, when she noticed his gaze had zeroed in on her mouth.

Dear Reader,

It is hard to believe that this book is the fourteenth novel in THE WESTMORELANDS series.

From the moment I introduced Quade Westmoreland in my earlier Westmoreland books, I knew Quade would be special and that only a one-of-a-kind woman would be able to handle him. I also knew that woman would hail from another one of my popular families—the Steeles.

The thought of orchestrating a romance between two of my popular families made me excited, but I knew I had to plan everything just right. In my Kimani book Irresistible Forces (May 08), I dropped hints about Quade; and in my Silhouette Desire book Cole’s Red-Hot Pursuit (June 08), I dropped hints about Cheyenne. A number of you e-mailed me after figuring out who was going to be the father of Cheyenne Steele’s babies.

This book is everything you have come to expect from me. Namely, a very passionate love story. I hope you enjoy reading this special romance between a Westmoreland and a Steele as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Happy Reading!

“S ir, the plane is about ready to take off. Please shut down your laptop and fasten your seat belt.”

Quade Westmoreland followed the flight attendant’s instructions while thinking just how many times he’d heard such a request while flying aboard a commercial aircraft. Over the past eight years he had grown accustomed to the luxury of Air Force One where using a laptop during takeoff was not only welcomed but necessary.

He glanced around. At least he was in first class, which wasn
