Seaside 96b Tran Phu 058/352 8343. Rooms here have solid furniture and a cosy feel. The place is well maintained and staff are very friendly, plus it’s right in front of the beach; one of the best-value options in town. US$11–30

Yen My 22 Hoang Hoa Tham 058/352 5064, yenmyhotel@hotmail.com. This mini-hotel run by a friendly family is a good-value budget option, with very cheap a/c or fan rooms and free internet. US$10 and under–20

Nha Trang Lodge 42 Tran Phu 058/352 1500, www.nhatranglodge.com. With over 120 rooms on twelve floors, some with fantastic views of the beach, this is one of Nha Trang’s flashiest and trendiest hotels. US$31–75

Phu Quy 2 1 Tue Tinh 058/352 6060, www.phuquyhotel.com.vn. A very smart mid-range option run by the owners of one of the town’s best budget hotels, this 15-storey building offers some of the city’s best beach views, especially from the upper-floor rooms and the tiny rooftop pool. Rooms are well-furnished and have wood floors. US$31–50

Vien Dong 1 Tran Hung Dao 058/352 3606, viendonghtl@dng.vnn.vn. Ageing but well-run operation, counting swimming pool, tennis courts and satellite TV among its amenities. Rooms in the main building are scrupulously clean, but those in the poolside annexe are less polished. US$21–50
