Supercoach - Michael Neill [71]

By Root 172 0
been traveling in rural England in the 1950s, and because his watch was running a bit slow, he missed his train. While waiting for the next train to arrive, he bumped into a young woman on the platform. They shared a carriage on that train, and a little over a year later decided to share their lives with one another.

Still not making the connection, I asked him what that had to do with Nina being born. He seemed surprised that I didn’t get it. “Well, if I hadn’t missed my train, I would never have met my wife, and your wife’s parents would never have met each other at our wedding!”

Although there are far more people who contributed to this manuscript than I could possibly acknowledge, including those whose contributions are somewhat obscured by the mists of time, I would like to offer my very public thanks to the following:

In addition, my deepest gratitude goes to:

• Paul McKenna and Dougray Scott for being my companions (and entertainment) on the flight during which the idea for this book was born.

• Robert Kirby for submitting the proposal before the ink had dried.

• Michelle Pilley, Jo Burgess, Jo Lal, Alex Freemon, Jill Kramer, Christy Salinas, Reid Tracy, and the entire Hay House team for proving time and again that business and pleasure are two sides of the same coin. Special mention to Amy Rose Grigoriou for my favorite cover design ever!

• Lizzie Hutchins for being the best midwife any literary creation could ever hope to have guiding its entry into the world.

• Jessica Kulik, Terri Carey, and Pamela Schott for doing such a wonderful job of taking care of me and my business while I take time to learn and coach and teach and write.

• David Beeler for listening and listening and listening some more as I teased out the stories and themes that fill these pages.

• Kristen Mansheim for both her supercoaching and her super-feedback on some early drafts of the manuscript.

• Syd Banks, Keith Blevens, George and Linda Pransky, Elsie Spittle, Roger Mills, Jack Pransky, and Ami Chen Mills-Naim for teaching me more about life in the last 18 months than I’d learned in the first 40 years.

And most especially to Nina, Oliver, Clara, and Maisy— you are the greatest gifts in my life, and I am truly blessed to get to spend my days with each one of you!
