TERRI WINDLING is an editor, artist, folklorist, and essayist, and the author of books for both children and adults. She has won nine World Fantasy awards, the Mythopoeic Award, the Bram Stoker Award, and the SFWA Solstice Award for outstanding contributions to the speculative fiction field, and her book The Armless Maiden was placed on the short list for the Tiptree Award. She has edited more than thirty anthologies of magical fiction (many of them in collaboration with Ellen Datlow); she created the Borderland series (a pioneering work of urban fantasy); and she’s been a consulting editor for the Tor Books fantasy line since 1986. As a painter, she has had her art exhibited in museums and galleries in England, France, and the United States; she is also codirector of the Endicott Studio, a transatlantic organization dedicated to mythic arts. A former New Yorker, Terri now lives in a small country village in the west of England with her husband, stepdaughter, and a lively black dog.
