The Complete Idiot's Guide to 2012 - Dr. Synthia Andrews Nd [111]

By Root 1373 0
All people, all life forms, all events both good and bad have their place in the circle of life. To stay in harmony and balance requires taking no more than we need and giving back equal to what we use. Resonance with the cycles and flow brings great joy and gratitude.

◆ Interconnectedness: We are all one, part of the same whole. What affects you affects me. What we do to the earth we do to ourselves.

The Least You Need to Know

◆ Predictions of 2012 seem eerily accurate in the light of current social and environmental stress.

◆ Population growth and increased prosperity has created a tremendous burden on natural resources of the planet.

◆ Earth’s ability to cleanse and regenerate has been compromised by the size of the load and the destruction of ecosystems.

◆ We can use consumer choice to drive corporate decision making.

◆ Getting through the bottleneck requires a paradigm shift emphasizing cooperation over competition.

◆ Common traditional attitudes of indigenous cultures are respect, gratitude, harmony/balance, and interconnection.

Chapter 18

Crop Circles and Other Signs from the Meta-Conscious Mind

In This Chapter

◆ Crop circles, defined

◆ An evolution from simple circles to complex designs

◆ Tlakaelel’s quest

◆ Astronomical relationships

◆ Mayan and Aztec connections

◆ Other signs from meta-consciousness

The term meta-consciousness means the part of our awareness that is beyond the ordinary. Swiss psychologist Carl Jung spoke of this as the collective unconscious, the part of our self that is connected to everything on the planet. Meta-consciousness can be activated through signs and symbols opening the door to the deeper awareness within. In fact, the signs and symbols are said to be coming from our meta-consciousness and manifesting in the material world to jolt our conscious mind. In other words, communication from self to self!

In Chapter 9, we learned from the Chilam Balam that in the last katun of the Long Count calendar the Mayan masters would return to awaken humans. It’s said that humans will be awakened by signs and symbols that stimulate our memory and inner awareness. There is no doubt the crop circles fit the criteria of meta-conscious messages. In this chapter, we’ll explore the crop circles as well as other signs of the times.

Colin has researched crop circles since 1983 and wrote the first book on the subject, Circular Evidence (see Resources appendix), with co-author Pat Delgado in 1989. This chapter is written in Colin’s voice, telling his journey into the mysterious astronomy of the Maya and their connection to the crop circles.

Mysterious Crop Circles

Crop circles are designs found in corn and other cereal crops. Despite what you may have thought, they’re not mowed into the crop; they’re laid down with the stalk bent at a 90-degree angle to the earth. The genuine circles are not broken over, or damaged in any way. The stalk is simply bent, as you can see in the following photo. The plants are swirled down into designs with no damage to the plant, no marks in the soil, and no signs of human involvement. Along with the rest of the field, crop circles are harvested at the end of the year and the plants become part of the cereal and bread we eat.

def•i•ni•tion

Crop circles are circular areas of flattened plants, normally flattened in a spiraled fashion. The term crop circle was coined by Colin in 1985. It was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 1997 to describe the areas of flattened crops. Although the formations in the field moved beyond simple circles, the term stuck and is now a household word around the world.

Although the first formations were simple circles, hence the name, they quickly evolved into dramatic and intricate designs. Some of the formations have been hundreds of feet long and across!

This is a typical bent stalk that can be seen in the plants in genuine crop formations.

Reports from the Fields

Crop circles have existed for decades, but the first documented and photographed crop circle appeared in 1976
