Grounding Exercise
Here’s a short meditation to bring you back into your body when you’re feeling overwhelmed:
1. Close your eyes and sit in a comfortable upright position, with your feet on the ground.
2. Let yourself breathe deeply and comfortably.
3. Notice your breath without changing a thing.
4. As you breathe, feel the air flow into your body.
5. Imagine that your feet have become roots, growing deep into the earth.
6. As you breathe, pull energy up from the earth, up through your feet and into your body.
7. As you inhale, let the energy rise into and through your body and out the top of your head.
8. As you exhale, let the energy drop back down into the earth to the source of safety and strength.
9. Allow your body to feel recharged, strong, and free.
Energy Awareness
K’ul flows through planetary alignments and pulses through the universe. K’ul flows along channels in the earth and channels in your body. Your body has sensors that give you the ability to feel the flows of k’ul. Maybe you already do. You can become more aware of k’ul with a few easy exercises.
Energy Exercise
Feeling energy is like any other skill—it takes practice. K’ul can be felt as the field around bodies, as the flow between bodies, and as the essence within bodies. The easiest way to start feeling it is by focusing your attention on the space around bodies and objects.
Try this simple exercise to help you feel the pulse of k’ul. First, rub your hands briskly together to build up some heat. Then hold your hands about twelve inches apart with your palms facing each other. Keep your hands relaxed, fingers separated, and wrists loose. Gently pulse your palms forward and backward, sending k’ul backward and forward. You’ll feel it like a gentle push against the center of your palm. You can make the pulse bigger by bringing your hands close together and then separating them rhythmically. Play with the distance and speed. As they come together, k’ul builds between them creating resistance. It feels like trying to push the north poles of two magnets together.
Now let’s try feeling the energy of a body or object. You can pick a plant, person, animal, crystal, or anything you feel connected to. Use your hands and float them about six inches above the body. Follow the contour and notice what you feel as you pulse your palms in and out of the energy field.
What to Expect in Energy Work
What did you notice as you played the energy game? Every one is a little different but here are some common experiences. You may feel temperature changes in your hands, either hot or cold. You may feel tingling, pulsing, or waves of sensation. The truth is that your hands are antennae; your radio station is actually located in your solar plexus. As your hand passes over your friend’s body, you may notice sensations in your solar plexus. You may also have images in your mind’s eye. As you start these experiments, keep a journal and keep track of what you feel.
As you practice, you’ll become more sensitive to energy and your body may go through changes as your nervous system gets upgraded. You may have sudden jolts, hot flashes, or feelings of warmth running through your body. Don’t worry, this is all a natural part of your developing awareness.
Positive Thinking
K’ul flow is directed by your mind. As you focus your attention, your energy follows. This is the power behind grounding and centering. Positive thinking directs your thoughts like emissaries you send out of your kingdom, into the world. Your emissaries will bring back whatever you send them to find.
As time accelerates, the relationship between your thoughts and what they create is becoming more immediate. This makes it important to be aware of each thought you choose. Here’s an experiment for you. Pick an event that happened to you in the past day. Try to follow the thread of causation to the thought or belief that created the event. Do this every day for a week.
