11. Cover the pot with its lid and allow the water to stand long enough for any sediment to settle to the bottom of the pot.
12. Line the funnel with a filter paper and place this in one of the two empty jars.
13. Fill the other jar carefully with the flower water from the pot. Pour slowly not to disturb the sediment.
14. Pour the liquid from this jar into the filtered funnel that is sitting in the first jar. This will take a while. Often, there is much sediment and you may need to filter the liquid twice.
15. From this filtered water, fill the remaining half of the labeled dropper bottle containing the brandy.
16. Cap tightly.
PREPARING THE STOCK WATER
This is the second stage in the preparation of a flower essence infusion. Later, from this Stock Water, a person’s Medicine Water is prepared.
To prepare a Stock Water from a Mother Essence which has been prepared by either the sun method or the boiling method:
1. Sterilize and dry a 1-oz. amber dropper bottle.
2. Label it with the name of the flower essence. Note that this is the Stock Water.
3. Fill the bottle with brandy.
4. Add merely 2 drops from the Mother Essence bottle.
5. Cap it tightly and succuss it (shake it vigorously) for a few moments.
PREPARING THE MEDICINE WATER
This is the third stage in the preparation of the flower essence, and it is from this one the individual takes the doses suitable for a human, an animal, or a plant.
1. Determine which essence or combination of essences an individual requires. (Using 2 or 3 in combination is ideal, and from my experience, I recommend using no more than 5 at a time.)
2. Into a sterilized dropper bottle, put 2 drops from the Stock Water of a selected essence, or 2 drops from each of the essences selected for use in combination (making a compound essence).
3. Add a teaspoonful of brandy as a preservative to inhibit the water from going cloudy.
4. Fill the bottle with water.
5. Cap it tightly and succuss it.
6. Label with the flower(s) name and note it as a Medicine Water. Include the recommended dosage.
DOSAGE
Focus on the positive aspects for taking the flower essence(s); clarify and focus on your intent; visualize the experiences of joy and health you are reviving.
A dose is 4 drops. Taking more than 4 drops per dose does not increase the benefit.
Hold the dose in the mouth for a few moments before swallowing to gain the full effect of the flower essence(s).
Normally, an individual takes four doses a day: one first thing in the morning, one last thing before retiring at night, and two more times during the day, ideally before meals.
When necessary, doses can be given more frequently, every 15 or 30 minutes, and then hourly until the individual feels uplifted and more at ease within.
If it is difficult to take the doses each time, place 16 drops of the Medicine Water into a glass or thermos of water or juice each morning and take frequent small sips throughout the day.
ANIMAL DOSAGE
Flower essences can be used for pets large or small displaying emotional perplexities, farm animals, wild fauna, or plants who have experienced a trauma or shock of any nature.
• Horses and other large animals: Put 8 drops of an essence (from the Medicine Water) into a bucket of water or 4 drops onto fruit or a piece of bread that they will eat.
• Dog- and cat-size animals: Put 4 drops of any essence (from the Medicine Water) into the food or drinking water. The essences can be put onto paws or directly into the mouth if the animal agrees.
• Or apply essences to beaks, snouts, noses, muzzles, on plumage, on scales, on tails, on Prancer, on Dancer…, behind ears, or into the fish bowl.
• Administer doses 4 times daily.
PLANT DOSAGES
• Place 16 to 20 drops of an essence or combination of essences in a gallon watering can full of water and water the plant’s soil.
• Put 8 to 10 drops of the same essences in a spray bottle and spray the plant’s foliage.
