(Inclusion implies no endorsement of any kind.) If you are interested in a particular type of homeschooling organization (i.e., specifically Christian or specifically secular), be sure to ask when you contact them; often the name of a group is no guide to its nature. Some groups will require members or officers to sign a statement of religious faith; if this matters to you, it’s best to find out up front. If you’re looking for a local support group, and none are listed for your area, try contacting a state-level group. Most maintain current information on local groups and will be happy to refer you to one near you. Alliance for Parental Involvement in Education P.O. Newsgroups
Compiling a completely accurate and comprehensive list of homeschooling organizations is nearly impossible. Because of their grassroots, shoestring nature, many homeschool organizations change officers and mailing addresses with astonishing frequency. Others change names, split into smaller groups, or dissolve entirely, and new groups pop up all the time.
