The subtle celebration of justified murder can have tragic real-world consequences. Several self-proclaimed Dexter-based copycat murderers have come before the courts already. Who knows how many more never mentioned the program in their interrogations, or have yet to be caught?

But many don’t. A recent study by the Veterans Administration found that there are an average of 950 suicide attempts each month by veterans who are receiving treatment from the VA.
