The Washington Post’s “opus,” “Swift Boat Accounts Incomplete: Critics Fail to Disprove Kerry’s Version of Vietnam War Episode,” was published on August 22, 2004. Mike Medeiros’s comments came from this article.

The New York Times added some debunking and examined the close ties between the Swifties and the Bushies in an August 20, 2004, article titled “Friendly Fire: The Birth of an Attack on Kerry.”
