When we sat down in the studio, Howard looked over at me and said, “You know, I don’t believe you can talk to the dead.”
I heard the words coming out of my mouth before I could stop them. “I really don’t care what you believe.”
Howard smiled. At that moment, I knew we would get along, and the interview proceeded without Howard’s usual embarrassing comments and disrespect. At the end, Howard asked if his girlfriend could meet me. “She loves this sort of thing.”
So we never know how angels do their jobs. Our part is to surrender and let them do their work. Help is always available, but we must have the faith and courage to let it in.
You’ve just gotten a glimpse of the many dimensions that intertwine and exceed our own physical atmosphere and the beings that inhabit these dimensions. As I have said many times to many audiences, just because we don’t see these dimensions does not mean that they do not exist. Everything is part of the one energy source of spirit, no matter the rate of vibration or the form it takes. It is all energy.

Everything Is Energy
Have you ever had the feeling that someone was watching over you but you couldn’t see who it was? Have you ever felt a cold chill run down your spine? Did you ever hear footsteps when no one was around? Or have you ever met someone for the first time and disliked him or her immediately? This feeling, this sensing—is it real? What exactly are these manifestations? The answer is simple: energy.
Simply put, energy is a force, or a relationship between two objects. It has a variety of different definitions. Some refer to energy as the life force of all thought and matter. Others think of energy as a magnetized element that holds all things together in our Universe. When I am asked to describe energy, I reply that energy is a combination of particles of molecules and electrons that behave in certain patterns. Everything is made from these particles; therefore everything is made of energy. The most important thing to remember about energy is that, depending on the dimension, these particles move at various rates of speed. For instance, the particles of matter that make up chairs, houses, trees, flowers, and your own physical body all move at a very slow rate of speed because they vibrate in a three-dimensional world. Ghosts vibrate at a higher rate because they are in a fourth dimension.
Suffice it to say, energy refers to many things that make our world work. There are different types of energy, such as electrical, mechanical, chemical, and thermal. The type of energy discussed in this chapter is kinetic, or spirit, energy.
THE LIGHT BEING
I had a very profound experience of spirit energy several years ago. I was in my office feeling pretty sorry for myself. Most of us have been in this kind of mood at some point in our lives, especially anyone who is very sensitive to the human condition. The unsettling feeling of global problems mixed with the ignorance and closed-mindedness of people in authority grinded away inside me. I sat there and reviewed my life wondering if I was doing enough to help change people’s minds and attitudes. I wondered why I was able to peer into the dark parts of the planet. What did that say about me?
Suddenly I noticed out of the corner of my eye a light on the floor in the room. At first I thought it was a ray of sunlight, but looking out of the window, I saw only clouds. Then I felt an incredible sensation of heat behind me and turned around to look. I was in awe at what I saw. It was a being of some sort—its shape was not that of a human body. It did not feel either male or female; it seemed to be neutral in essence. It had no particular attributes like love or fear but was simply a steady energy. Suddenly I felt prompted to go to the mirror and take a good look at myself. I could hear words saying, in effect, Sense your energy, see who you truly are, do not let
