Ghosts Among Us - James Van Praagh [57]
I looked over at Kelley and said, “Okay, five minutes, and we’re out of here.” People were so drunk that several of them bumped into me on my way to find some ventilation. We didn’t wait the five minutes. I looked at Kelley, and she looked back at me, and we made a beeline down the stairs. As we rushed out the door and felt the cool evening air, we felt a bit of relief. Then we turned and saw a long line of people waiting to get in. Several ghosts tagged along with the waiting customers. The whole atmosphere was a scary movie in the making. Kelley and I, both of us “creeped out” by the negative energy, quickly turned the corner and walked down the street as fast as we could. I said, “I feel as though I need a shower.” Kelley replied, “Me too.” At that very moment, it started to sprinkle. We laughed at the irony but kept walking. There was no hiding under awnings or in doorways in this neighborhood, not with such bad energy hanging around the entire area.
All I can say is that it felt like drug energy. Everyone who walked by us seemed to be strung out on something. When we were about three blocks away from the hotel, a crazed guy suddenly jumped out of an alley and screamed profanities at Kelley. We ran those final few blocks until we reached the safety of our hotel.
MORE GHOSTLY HANGOUTS
Besides bars, clubs, restaurants, theaters, and so on, ghosts also prey on humans who have a lot of “fear” energy. Fear, worry, and anxiousness are all emotions that attract earthbound ghosts. Ghosts feed on these emotions and, in turn, use them to build up their own energy. There are several places that contain fearful energy. What are these places? Believe it or not, dentists’ offices are commonly filled with ghosts. Personally, I am not afraid of dentists, but whenever I go I keep a watchful eye out for ghosts lurking in a corner or two.
Other places that are surprisingly attractive to ghosts are law firms and courtrooms. Ghosts frequent these places because of all the fearful emotions attached to these areas. People in these settings are in distress, angry, wrongly accused, or perpetrators of crimes. Some ghosts may have been in trouble with the law when they were alive and cannot get enough of this type of energy. Some may have been innocent and want to see that justice is done.
Hospitals are another very big draw for ghosts. Hospitals are filled with sickness, worry, and the fear of death. Whenever I visit people in hospitals, ghosts are always milling around. Some are there to siphon off energy from people in weakened states. Others may be standing by to assist loved ones pass over to the other side. Then there are some ghosts who are newly dead and somewhat confused as to their whereabouts.
GHOSTS ON PLANES
Airplanes are another source of ghostly interference. I do understand ghosts on planes because, like me, many people are not good flyers. It’s understandable that people have a fear of flying, especially since 9/11. However, many of the spirits I have seen on planes are not necessarily there to steal energy. Instead, they are on board to watch over loved ones who are afraid of flying. I know that several of my spirit guides accompany me to calm my fear of flying.
A few years back I was in the Memphis airport waiting to board a flight back home to Los Angeles. As I looked around the crowd at the gate, I saw a number of spirits around their loved ones. I didn’t feel any bad energy from them, but one ghost in particular got my attention. He was rather tall and slightly plump. He wore a white shirt, blue jeans, and large, black sunglasses. He hung around a very pretty blonde and kept petting the top of her head. I wondered if he actually knew her or was just attracted, as a ghost, to her bright and friendly energy. The more I looked at this ghost, the more familiar he seemed. It crossed my mind that it might be Elvis, but I quickly discounted the idea because I was certain
