A friend from South America introduced me to Chilean-style hot dogs—hot dogs layered on hard buns with mayonnaise and slices of tomato and avocado.

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Arrange the hot dog buns on a baking sheet and place in the oven until toasted, just 1 to 2 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, wrap the hot dogs in a damp paper towel, and microwave on high until hot, about 1 minute.

3. Carefully remove the toasted buns from the oven. Spread each bun with mayonnaise and add the hot dogs. Garnish each one with tomato and avocado slices.

MEATBALL SUB

YIELD: 2 servings

PREP TIME: 10 minutes

COOKING TIME: 10 minutes

1/2 (16-ounce) package frozen

Trader Giotto’s Meatballs Fully

Cooked (about 6 meatballs)

1/2 cup Trader Giotto’s Organic

Tomato Basil Marinara

1 (12-ounce) package Trader

Giotto’s Garlic Bread Sticks

2 slices provolone cheese, halved

Trader Giotto’s Garlic Bread Sticks are a great start to building a meatball sub.

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.

2. Cut each meatball in half and place in a microwave-safe dish. Microwave on high until slightly warm, about 1 minute. Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs and microwave on high until the sauce is warm, about 1 minute.

3. Split 2 of the bread sticks in half lengthwise, cutting only three-quarters of the way through to keep the halves attached. Place the bread on the prepared baking sheet, split-side up. Evenly divide the heated meatballs and marinara sauce between the split bread sticks and top each one with 2 cheese halves.

4. Bake the sandwiches until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted, 7 to 10 minutes.
