If the Buddha Got Stuck_ A Handbook for Change on a Spiritual Path - Charlotte Sophia Kasl [103]

By Root 1029 0
comes from the teachings of Susan M. Johnson, author of Creating Connections and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy for Trauma Survivors. EFT helps couples drop below the surface level so they’re able to have heartfelt conversations connected to their emotions, the source of change. EF T focuses on naming and understanding the repetitive patterns in which couples get stuck, and moving toward the positive patterns that create intimacy, safety, and connection. I also add aspects of body movement to this therapy.

I have a Ph.D. from Ohio University and I am a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Montana and a Certified Addiction Specialist in the areas of chemical dependency and sexual relationships. You can go to my website, charlottekasl.com, for more information. My office phone number is listed below.

Therapy Referrals

Please note. I do not have referrals for therapists around the country.

My bias is for therapy that involves working to release the holding patterns in the body and nervous system and access emotions, especially when dealing with trauma, depression, and anxiety. For example, EMDR combined with ego-state therapy, or someone who works with body centered therapy. When you’re seeking a therapist it is crucial to talk with them and ask questions to see if the person feels right for you. Even if the therapist has taken a particular training, they may not necessarily be appropriate for your needs.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

This is an advanced technology used for releasing traumatic memories, changing negative core beliefs and behavior patterns, and overcoming addictive and compulsive behavior. It is very focused, efficient, and effective and helps release the automatic physiological triggers of fear, anger, and hurt stemming from trauma. For more information you can read EMDR by Francine Shapiro (HarperCollins), or go to the EMDR or EMDRIA website. For a therapist in your area, or for information, write or call:
