NOT ONLY HAS Bhutan never been colonized but Christian missionaries have not had much luck there, either. In the seventeenth century, two Jesuits made their way in. The account of their interactions with Bhutan’s then leader, the Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, is on the Web, here:
