division are the result of frustration felt by those having trouble letting go of the old. The more apparent these shifts become, the harder it will be for these folks to understand them. Be careful, though, as anger and resentment can lead to violence, in word if not deed.

In this changing age, no soul is left behind. Tolerating different views requires respect for others and patience with the process of change. Being calm and grounded, or being panicked and volatile, are nothing more than choices. “Reality” is what is shifting, and not all of us will shift with grace and ease!

New Circles, New Friends

For your own well-being, you may steer away from old associations as new ones enter your life. Welcome new friends, interests, and activities with open arms. Be patient with those you no longer see eye to eye with. Who knows who is right or wrong? The truth is, everyone is free to chart their own path.

Rule of thumb: go through the door, but don’t close it. Keep it open for any of your friends and family who may decide to come along. Like a recovering alcoholic, you may need to leave friends who engage in destructive patterns. But also be willing to accept them as they are and know they may decide to change, too. You never know, they may have been waiting for the opportunity to shift all along and were afraid to leave you behind!

Decision Making

It’s often said that we act out of either fear or love. Fear-based decisions are ones you make out of scarcity thinking; out of fear of lack or loss. Love-based decisions are ones that contribute to growth. Here’s the thing: all of your emotions have a purpose, even fear. When fear pops up in your decision making, ask yourself what message your subconscious is sending. It could be sending a message that you’re letting lack of confidence run your life; it could be saying danger lies ahead; it could be telling you about old wounds that need healing or beliefs that need changing.

Codex Cues

Having trouble making a decision? The ancient Maya made all major decisions by consulting the Day Keeper. With the help of our modern version, the computer, you can do this, too. There are many Mayan day-sign consultation websites. You might want to try www.alabe. com/mayan.html.

Bottom line, it isn’t wrong to feel limiting emotions; it’s wrong not to find out what they mean. Here’s an analogy. It would be silly to be afraid to cross a street with no cars to be seen. It would be equally silly not to be afraid when crossing a street in front of a bus! Maybe you were hit by a car before and the subconscious fear keeps you from crossing the street even though it’s empty. Whatever the situation, your fear is telling you something. Don’t make decisions based on fear or limiting emotions, but don’t ignore them, either. Expand your awareness by finding out what your emotions are telling you and let them become your guides.

Lifestyle Purification

If you’re a typical citizen of the twenty-first century, you’ve probably taken advantage of the many opportunities of the past 10 years. There’s been unprecedented access to financing for your dreams and ambitions. Maybe you went all out, banking on your ability to succeed as you followed your dreams. The problem is, you might have thought you had more time to make your dreams come true and pay back the piper. Unfortunately, time is running out.

The point of this chapter isn’t to problem-solve for you, it’s to look at the problems through the lens of the process underway: purification. The definition of purification is “The act or instance of cleansing; the act or process of removing impurities.” As the challenges mount in your life, what areas are being hit hardest? These are the areas that you’re being asked to cleanse. Purification is getting rid of everything that isn’t your true self.

In addition, purification is cleaning up your lifestyle for better health. Difficult times require all our faculties, and health is key. Besides, you want to keep your health so you can enjoy the new interests and ideas you have!
