The Complete Idiot's Guide to 2012 - Dr. Synthia Andrews Nd [52]

by expanded consciousness.

The San Bartolo creation mural shows all the people of the four worlds working together in the fifth world. This world is the age that brings the other four together into something new, a higher level of consciousness.

The fifth age of the Maya is the return of Kukulkan. This time Kukulkan will not be an external god but the god in each of us coming to fruition. We will each become Kukulkan.

In the Aztec legends, the fifth age is currently underway. It’s a time for sacrificing blood to the gods. This age is destroyed when people stop sacrificing and the gods run out of blood. Then the world will be shattered by earthquakes. There is no sixth world.

Maybe this is a good time to fully join the Maya in the fourth world!

End of a Cosmic Day

Okay, let’s take a longer view—in fact, a much longer view. A cosmic day is the amount of time it takes the solar system to travel around the galaxy once. It’s between 225 and 250 million years. So about every 10,000 precession cycles the solar system travels around the galaxy once. Given the age of the solar system, it has traveled 18 times around the galaxy; it has lived 18 cosmic days. Our species has only experienced about 10 minutes of these 18 days. But hey, who’s counting? Other than the Maya, of course.

According to Carl Johan Calleman, the Maya have recorded dates and named cycles that span 16.4 billion years. Before your mind boggles, take a look at the evidence.

Coba Stele

Coba is a Mayan site in the Yucatán. It unearthed the most important stele timekeeping “document” yet. Amazingly preserved, this stele provides a timeline beyond imagination. Inscribed 1,300 years ago, the dates are written in powers of the largest numbers in the Mayan system. They represent time spans along a continuum of 16.4 billion years. According to Calleman, the time cycles recorded on the stele represent evolutionary ages of our planet. Shockingly, the timeline of Mayan evolutionary ages matches almost exactly the evolutionary epochs of modern science. We may indeed need to rethink the origins of the Maya!

Pyramid Power

Combining the geometry of the pyramid with the insights of the Coba stele is illuminating. Calleman saw the progressively smaller steps up the pyramid as the progressively smaller evolutionary periods of modern times. The calendars culminate with the end date on the top platform; each step up represents an evolutionary age. Remember from Chapter 5 that Calleman has calculated a different end date than the accepted 2012. His calculations take into account an adjustment to the calendar made by Mayan priests in 600 C.E. Calleman establishes an end date of October 28, 2011.

Time Progression

You may notice as you look at the time pyramid that the evolutionary cycles are based on progressions of 13, one of the magic Mayan numbers. Look at the following table for a quick review of the numbering system. You can see that each pyramid level increases by powers of 20, the second magic Mayan number. Finally, notice that the top step on the pyramid, the step before we reach the platform, is 260 days, the final magic Mayan number. 260 brings the entire pyramid structure into resonance with the Tzolk’in calendar, the calendar of spiritual cycles. The combination of 13, 20, and 260 resonate with the human structure, connecting us to the larger universe, dimensions of time, and spiritual cycles. (Don’t recall this? Go back and check out Chapters 3 and 5.)

Calleman has another theory about time and the pyramids. It’s called time acceleration. At the bottom of the pyramid, there’s a lot of time but not much growth. With each step up the pyramid, growth and development happen faster. In essence, time appears to be accelerating. This has certainly been noticed before; we all feel time disappearing, but
