If the Yellowstone super volcano blows, huge rocks, molten lava, and magma will be ejected through the air at supersonic speeds. The states in the immediate area will be devastated. The next circle out will be poisoned with radioactive fallout. An ash cloud will spread over the continent, stopping air travel for an estimated three to five years and blocking rays from the sun. The result? Temperatures dropping with the potential of a “nuclear winter.” No air travel, no satellites, interference of radio waves, and radioactive fallout. The interference with technology leaves some people thinking an eruption of Yellowstone will end civilization as we know it.
2012: The Tipping Point
Volcanoes provide an important balancing function for the earth. In the past, it was thought the main function was to release internal pressure. While true, it’s now thought that the main function is to balance temperatures on the planet. The ash spewed into the air provides protection from the sun, bringing temperatures down. With global warming, holes in the ozone layer, and cracks in the magnetic field, we may be due for a planetary cooling off. The truth is, we really don’t know the cycles of the planet. Holes in the ozone, cracks in the magnetic field, and super volcanoes may all be part of balancing mechanisms that play off each other through the eons of time. We haven’t had the ability to monitor for long enough periods to truly know what’s going on. However, 2012 researchers believe another factor may play a hand. If the sun and earth undergo a magnetic pole reversal at the same time, it’s thought an eruption may be triggered.

What About the Photon Belt?
As you’ll recall from Chapter 6, although there’s no physical evidence of the existence of the photon belt, it’s a recurring theme in 2012 predictions. Believers say it represents a frequency of energy that scientists are currently unable to measure. They suggest it comes from other dimensions and is assisting a spiritual awakening on the planet. We’re scheduled to enter the belt in December 22, 2012. This date has been chosen because of the Pleiades alignment we discussed in Chapter 6 and because of the Mayan calendar end date.
The Passage
According to advocates, the belt is divided into three sections. The near side and far side perimeters are called the null zones; the middle is called the main belt. First the solar system enters the null zone, which takes five to six days to traverse. During this passage, there is a three-day period of total darkness. Passage through the main belt will take 2,000 years. During this time, there will be 24 hours of daylight. Moving out through the far side null zone will again take the solar system five to six days, and the earth will experience three days of darkness. How do we know? Hmm. Good question.
Cosmic Caution
Although many people believe in the photon belt, there is no real evidence. Before believing in any new theory, be sure to check out the source. A lot of times when something is repeated enough by many different people, it gets accepted as real. A little digging is always important before leaping aboard.
Spiritual Light
The theory is that photon radiation will excite molecules and atoms, increasing their vibration. Matter will essentially be raised in spiritual energy. It’s believed this will allow the solar system to elevate to a higher dimension, leading to a golden age of spiritual realization. Of course, not everyone will want to have their vibration increased. These people will find themselves in a lower-dimensional universe appropriate to their level of development.
