Pure grain alcohol (190-proof, 95 percent) is available in liquor stores throughout the Western states except in California. Everclear is a well-known brand name. Pure grain alcohol can be bought in B.C., Canada, but only with a special use permit that can be applied for at a government liquor outlet. One can also bring a liter (1 per month legally and tax free) of pure grain alcohol over the Mexican border. It only costs about four or five dollars a liter. Possibly more than a liter can be brought over, but you will probably have to pay duty on this.
