The Vacant Throne - Ed Greenwood [178]
TALASORN, RAEVUR: a courteous, diplomatic wizard of Sirlptar, allied with the Baron Adeln in conspiracy against the Risen King because he seeks a strong, united Aglirta wherein increased trade and wealth will mean more patrons seeking to hire wizards (for Raevur has four daughters whose spell-craft already outstrips his, too clever and beautiful to be "brutalized by some warrior-baron" and denied any chance to use their magic; Raevur's wife, Iyrinda, is dead, and he dotes on his lasses).
TANTHUS: senior thief of the Bright Blade and Hope of Aglirta adventuring band; haughty and clever; openly dresses in black leathers and a black silk mask.
TATHTORN: a warrior in the service of the Baron Blackgult, who becomes one of Bloodblade's Band.
TAURYM, IMBRETH: the steward of Tathcaladorn, the private castle and hill-forest hunting lodge of the Baron of Cardassa; an attentive, diplomatic, and perceptive senior servant.
TELABRAS, DIRL: Factor (trade agent) of Sirlptar; tall, handsome, and close-mouthed; the agent of Sirl ship captains and shipping lines.
TESSYRE: a long-ago sorceress of flame-red hair and a temper to match, according to bardic ballads, who when sorely wounded took herself into magical Slumber, in the ritual later used by the King of Aglirta, to lie hidden awaiting succor from someone now forgotten.
THARLORN of the Thunders: "Lord of Thunders," "Master of the Thunders"; one of the two mightiest independent wizards of the Vale (Bodemmon Sarr, his bitter rival, is the other); see also Baerund, Ilisker.
TLALASH: a junior Koglaur, habitually female, who unlike most others of her kind is vulnerable to snake venom and other poisons.
TURSTRIN, MAELOCH: an impetuous warrior and brigand who works with Weldrin, his onetime commander in (Silvertree) military service.
UBUNTER, VELMOS: an old, incompetent wizard of Cardassa, sage (advisor) to the baron; a sharp-tongued, fussy old man, and a bitter rival of Baerethos.
ULGUND, INTHRIS: Tersept (non-noble ruler) of Helvand; young, and known for his boldness and swift temper.
UMMERTYDE, GLOUN: a warrior in the service of the Baron Blackgult and boyhood acquaintance of Sendrith Duthjack, the "Bloodblade," who becomes one of Bloodblade's Band.
VANDUR: slayer-for-hire and professional "capturer" (hired kidnapper), formerly in the service of Baron Faerod Silvertree; a capable warrior and stealthy killer, who now works and travels with his partner, Kethgan.
VILCABRAS, INTHYL: bard of Aglirta; wise, flashily handsome, and best known for the ballad Five Feasts of Tears; slain by the wizard Huldaerus.
WELDRIN, SORTH: a cruel, clever, ambitious brigand leader and accomplished warrior who was once a swordsorn (officer equivalent to sergeant) in the service of Silvertree, commander of the "Sixth Sword" of twenty warriors.
Wizard of Stars, the: according to bards, the mightiest mage Aglirta has ever known; its ruler centuries ago, in a Reign of the Wizard thought by many to be the height of Aglirtan glory; vanished rather than being confirmed dead, so some believe he'll return, hence the upland Vale saying "Until the Wizard Walks"; though few besides sages and wizards know it, the Wizard of Stars habitually and tracelessly invaded the minds of all his subjects, rendering them his unwitting slaves.
XAVALANDRO, FORL: the "Champion of Adeln," a hulking giant of an armaragor, equaled in size and strength only by Hawkril Anharu of the Four, but possessed of far more cruelty and bloodlust than the Boar of Blackgult.
