wonders for my face, and maybe it’ll work for yours. Personally, I am a big fan of M·A·C makeup, yet I use very little of it. My makeup case has exactly the same few products in it, all year-round. I start with a clean face, washed with Neutrogena glycerin soap and a Buff Puff to exfoliate every day. Then, I medicate my face with Proactiv toner and repair lotion. At the age of twenty-five, my hormones began changing and brought on a case of adult acne. I was mortified! Within two weeks of using the Proactiv line of products, my face was healed. I have been using Proactiv ever since. As for the makeup, I start with M·A·C’s Select Tint SPF 15, then powder my face lightly with M·A·C’s Studio Fix. I then brush a bit of blush onto my cheeks and end with a very sparing application of mascara. Finally, I use a bit of lip balm on my lips instead of lip gloss, in order to appear more natural. I prefer the Hemp balm from the Body Shop, since it is made with coconut oil versus petroleum. This regimen is a great way to wear makeup without looking like you have any on. But hey, don’t be afraid to go without makeup. It shows extreme confidence and men really appreciate a clean, natural face!

Because of this, there are women who think the definition of beautiful comes with a fully made-up face, both day and night, not knowing that natural beauty is always most appreciated. Sure, we all have flaws we would like to cover from time to time, but even that can be done naturally. The best part of it all, though, is that it’s our flaws that make us even more beautiful.

Along with your face, your hair should always be neat, whether in a casual bun or let loose. If your weekend gear is common and very casual, make sure you wear it well. Your clothes should always be clean, pressed, form-fitting, or complimentary. No matter what size and shape you are, be confident knowing that you take good care of yourself. When you do so, and do it with a sense of flair, you can make even your weekend sweats by Hanes look like high fashion. People will notice the time and care you’ve taken to assure your appearance is acceptable, even enviable. And it’s always nice to be admired, especially during those times when we are dressed down.

Vixen Tip

Okay, ladies, here’s some super-important advice—be sure to pay very close attention to your most personal care. When your man slips into bed with you, he should feel smooth legs and feet. Take the time to shave or wax as often as necessary and arrange for pedicures regularly. If your time and budget are limited, handle the responsibility yourself! Smother your entire body with rich lotions and oils on a daily basis to assure your skin is supple year-round, especially during cold weather. I prefer Palmer’s Cocoa Butter or the Hemp Body Butter by the Body Shop. You should always smell good. This is easy to do with a little trick I learned during my short stint as a salesperson at Victoria’s Secret. It’s called fragrance layering, and starts with adding perfumed lotion to your skin. I like to rub it into my thighs, chest, and neck. Then spray a light layer of perfumed spray over that, and even a bit onto your panties. Yes, your panties! Just make sure it has dried before putting them on! My personal favorite, especially during the summer, is to use a light coat of baby powder “down there,” to assure that you stay free from wetness and odor. Trust me when I tell you the man in your life will notice and appreciate the time you take to care for yourself, inside and out.

There are many creative ways to take good care of yourself. Although I’m not a doctor or beauty specialist, I know what has worked for me, and I am happy to share as much of that with you as I can. It is critical that you do not underestimate the importance of your appearance. You must also recognize that how you look at home is just as important as your appearance in the workplace.

Just because you are plastered all over the pages of a magazine doesn’t mean you don’t have to look your best when you’re relaxing in your
