Old World curses can be very long lasting. It’s common for the person who is putting on the curse to put it on an object, usually one made of metal or stone. The person who is sending the curse focuses on the object, rather than the individual, and is able to send a regular flow of negative energy into the cursed person’s environment, even from a great distance. Necklaces, particularly those with crosses, are commonly used. I once removed a powerful curse from a woman whose sister-in-law in Italy had sent her a metal picture frame that the woman kept in her living room. It was responsible for negative energy that, over time, made her severely ill.
Negative Energy Curses
A common way for a curse to develop over time is by an accumulation of negative energy. Imagine that I told you I needed minor surgery on a particular date at a particular time, and I asked you to say a prayer for me. If, on that day and time, you paused and thought, I hope Mary Ann does well, or even visualized the white Light and sent it to me, then you have sent me positive energy. If instead on that day and time, you paused in your routine and thought, That Mary Ann is a jerk. She’s just no good; you’ve just sent negative energy. You have cursed me. It’s really that simple. If you can send positive energy to someone, you can also send negative energy.
The truth is, it’s going to take a lot more than a single bad thought to make me have a bad day. However, if these kinds of negative thoughts or feelings are directed at someone over and over again, especially with the force of hatred or envy behind them, then there is no doubt in my mind that they will begin to affect that person. Picture the effects of a curse as if you were outlining a picture in a coloring book. You’d take your black crayon and go over the lines of the drawing. The more you went over them, the darker and thicker they’d become. Once you become outlined with negative energy, it becomes easier to attract more negative energy. Every time people have had dark thoughts about you or wished you ill under their breath, the negative energy around you becomes stronger, denser, and more powerful. People who have this kind of negative energy around them frequently say things like “If I didn’t have bad luck, I wouldn’t have any luck at all,” or “I have a black cloud over my head,” or “I’m a born loser.” Fortunately, this kind of negative energy is usually easily removed.
Some people believe that in order to be able to remove a curse, you need to know how to put one on. My grandmother certainly believed this, and although I was sixteen when she taught me how to take a curse off, it wasn’t until about four years before she died, when I was nearly fifty, that I finally agreed to let her show me how to put a curse on. Honestly, I really didn’t want to learn how to put the malocchio on someone, and I have never done so. I never will. I don’t believe in putting negative energy on someone. I have the utmost respect for the universal law: What goes around, comes around. Anyone who intentionally puts out negative energy is guaranteed to receive it back in one form or another.
What a Curse Can Do to You
No matter what kind of curse is involved, it will always affect at least one of three areas: money, health, and relationships. Now, of course, life isn’t perfect, and these are all parts of life where it’s common to have problems.
