When Ghosts Speak - Mary Ann Winkowski [106]
8. If the building has a lot of floors, you may want to repeat steps 6 and 7 on several of the floors.
How to Remove Negative Energy from a Piece of Land
1. Place yourself in the white Light (see page 214).
2. Light your candle and place it nearby.
3. Be sure you are carrying or wearing your talisman, your amulet, or a symbol of your totem.
4. Fill one section of the glass dish with liquid (either oil or holy water), one section with herb, and the third section with a powder. This is the minimum number of items you must use. You may choose to use more, but you must have at least one choice from each of the three categories.
5. Dip a cotton ball in each section of the dish. Start with liquid so the other substances will stick to the cotton.
6. Bury one of these cotton balls about an inch below the surface in every corner of the property. If you are unable to bury the cotton balls at the very perimeter because of water, rocks, or dangerous terrain, just place them as close as you can.
7. Move to the middle of the property and bury one of the cotton balls there.
8. Visualize the white Light coming up from the ground and pushing the negative energy upward and into the universe. Visualize the energy rising higher and higher until you cannot see it in your mind’s eye anymore.
A Final Word
I HAVE SPENT more than fifty years seeing and talking to ghosts. And from the moment it became clear that this would be my life’s work, I’ve felt that it was my responsibility not only to help earthbound spirits cross over into the Light but to educate the living as well. Each time I give a lecture or offer a workshop in removing negative energy or take calls on a radio show or brainstorm with the writers on Ghost Whisperer about a new story idea, I have the opportunity to demystify the world of earthbound spirits and help people understand that there is often no reason to fear ghosts. I have the chance to show them that there are ways to avoid inviting earthbound spirits or negative energy into their lives.
The stories and information in this book were intended to give you insight into the world of earthbound spirits and provide you with the kind of in-depth information you need to deal with them. I hope you’ve come to the conclusion that, as mysterious as it may at first seem, the world of ghosts is actually quite mundane. If you can begin to appreciate just how ordinary their existence can be, you’re on the way to understanding how I can take for granted my constant immersion in their world. And yes, I’ve certainly found myself in any number of exciting, hilarious, awkward, and even unnerving situations, but at the end of the day—it’s just what I do.
After finishing this book, you should know that when you die (and we all will someday), crossing into the white Light is unquestionably the right thing to do. Of course you will have the choice whether or not to go. If, for some reason, you decide to stay, I hope that you’ll remember what I’ve told you about finding the Light on your own: Just head to a funeral home where a service is in progress!
If I’ve done anything with this book, I hope I’ve offered you some important instruction for your life and afterlife. I’m going to assume that I won’t run into any of you as spirits, that you’ll all take responsibility for crossing over and moving on to whatever awaits us in the Light.
I’m just one person, and as far as I know there are countless earthbound spirits. The most important reason for writing this book was to tell you what to expect and how to act when confronting ghosts. If I’ve done a good job, I expect that in time I’ll be able to confirm, and you may be able to sense, the benefits. There will be fewer spirits who get stuck here on earth, fewer unwanted ghosts vexing the living, and more positive and less negative energy.
