The Complete Idiot's Guide to 2012 - Dr. Synthia Andrews Nd [114]
Celestial Connection
An interesting thought: since the crop circle designs are harvested with the rest of the fields, many of us have been eating these plants in our cereal, bread, and other products. Is this another way of awakening humanity?
The Evolution of Design
The crop circles began, as the name implies, as simple circles. They quickly evolved through a series of steps into complex, beautiful designs. The designs continued to evolve in groups that we’ve called “design families.” Some have been astronomical families including galaxies, comets, and solar systems; others have been mathematical fractals; others have been religious symbolism from many cultures.
Let’s take an evolutionary journey through the fields via the family of astronomical formations. This journey spans nearly a quarter of a century and evolves to reflect the astronomical focus of the Maya.
The first crop circles, swirled into the cereal plants, created a three-dimensional impression of a sphere. They could have represented many things; however, most people were immediately reminded of a planetary body or perhaps even the sun. In the following illustration, you can follow the progression we saw in the fields:
1976: Single circles in the field (#1 in the following illustration).
1983: A single circle was surrounded by four satellites, positioned in the four directions; it could be suggestive of orbiting bodies (#2 in the following illustration).
1986: A single circle arrived with a single concentric ring around it (#3 in the following illustration). Was this intended to represent the atmosphere around planet Earth? Or an orbit around the sun?
1988: The four satellites of 1983 arrive connected by a concentric ring (#4 in the following illustration). Now this does seem to symbolize an orbit around a central body. Someone or something seemed to be talking “astronomy,” like a Mayan astronomer’s spirit, drawing his chart and using the cereal crops as his canvas.
1992: The first crescent arrived in the fields (#5 in the following illustration). Synthia and I were flying a reconnaissance flight over southern England with pilot and researcher Busty Taylor. Synthia spotted this beautiful sliver peeping out of the shimmering field. Of course we thought of a crescent moon.
1994: Two galaxy designs arrive (#6 in the following illustration). It was as if we had already been shown our place in the solar system and now we were being shown our place in the larger picture, the galaxy.
1994: A simple design appeared looking like a drawing of a massive solar flare leaving the sun (#7 in the following illustration).
Here are the crop-circle designs as they evolved from 1976 to 1994.
By this time, many people were looking at the circles and getting involved in researching them. The formations continued to evolve, getting more and more elaborate each year. To everyone, it began to feel like something was trying to tell us something. Was this a coincidence, one big hoax, or was this the fulfillment of prophecy?
My Journey with Tlakaelel
Let’s take a break from the design evolution for a moment (we’ll return later) and let me tell you about my meeting with Aztec Elder Tlakaelel. You may remember Tlakaelel from Chapter 14.
You probably remember from Part 1 that the Aztec Nation is closely aligned and related to the Maya. In fact, the creation stories and calendars are clearly built on each other. What you are about to read is classified as “high strangeness,” but it’s all true and verified by many witnesses.
