Cosmic Caution

If you’re experiencing the challenging side of the 2012 shift, it’s perfectly normal to feel these things, but remember that they can also be signs of more serious medical or psychological stress. You may want to get professional support as we head into these demanding times.

Increasing Synchronicity

Everyone experiences some form of synchronicity. Synchronicity is coincidence that happens with meaningful events, like when you’re walking through a park thinking of a person you want to talk to and as you round the corner that person is walking toward you. Or you sit down in your airplane seat to find the person sitting next to you is someone who holds the key to a problem you’ve been working on. Synchronicity lets us know that more than random chance is working in the universe.

Synchronicity is a great indicator that you’re on track. When people, events, and opportunities fall into your lap at just the right moment you know you’re in “sync” with your higher purpose. Although most synchronicities are meaningful and validating, they can also be uncomfortable. Sometimes the people who pop up aren’t the ones you want to see. The magic job or relationship you stumbled into doesn’t work out as you thought.

Synchronicity is a sign you’re on the path, not a promise that the path is easy! When synchronicity brings challenge into your life it’s an opportunity for growth. You’re being asked to look at what you need to change in your attitudes, beliefs, or lifestyle. Welcome these opportunities with open arms. As you clear the old, the birth of the new begins.

Increasing Awareness

We’ve said before that awareness relates to how you perceive the world. Becoming more aware implies perceiving the world in more ways, or perceiving more of the world. This is true, but what we’re really saying is that increasing awareness means using more of your self in how you perceive.

Here’s an example: someone is telling you a story. You’re listening with your ears and examining it with your mind. But a lot of other things are happening, too. You’re feeling the emotion of the story in your heart, your body is reflecting the body language of the other person, and your energy sensors are monitoring the person’s energy field. Some part of you measures all these things and they become the basis for your gut reaction. Increasing awareness is not about finding new senses, it’s about being conscious of the ones you already have.

As we head toward 2012, you may become more aware of other ways of perceiving. You may start having an inner sense of knowing, or start feeling the truth behind events and words. You might start seeing or feeling the energy field around people.

You may break through the barriers of space and have sudden visions. For example, you might be talking to your friend about his or her new house and suddenly see the view out the back window in your mind’s eye.

Opening awareness is exciting and fun, but it also carries a certain amount of responsibility. As awareness awakens, it’s easy to start feeling overly confident. Don’t let your ego take you out of balance and allow you to act high-handedly. It’s never a good idea to think that because you have a new perception you know what’s best for other people. Only they know what’s best for them; only you know what’s best for you.

Time Acceleration

Researcher Carl Johan Calleman says the information from the pyramids indicates time is accelerating as we approach 2012. What does that really mean? One of the attributes of time is that it creates space between cause and effect. This allows us to learn the impact of consequences. As time accelerates, the space between what we think or do and its results becomes less. You may remember this concept from the section on Barbara Marciniak in Chapter 12.

Thoughts Are Things

You may have heard the expression “thoughts are things.” What exactly does it mean? Every thought you
