Many prophecies do not have dates associated with them because it is believed that free will can change the future. A prophecy is only a glimpse of a probability. Situations can change. We may want to remember this and work now to avoid predictions of earth changes to come. How? By changing our thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors.
The Hindu Kali Yuga
The Hindu tradition has a close similarity to the Maya and the Mayan timeline. Like the Maya and the Hopi, Hindus believe in four world ages that correspond to stages in human development. The Hindu names of the ages are the Satya Yuga, the Treta Yuga, the Dvapara Yuga, and the Kali Yuga. The present cycle is the Kali Yuga, which began at midnight on January 23, 3102 B.C.E. (Gregorian calendar), only 12 years difference from the Maya’s Long Count calendar. Lord Krishna predicted that approximately 5,000 years into the Kali Yuga a golden age will start and will last for 10,000 years.
Prior to the coming of the 10,000 years of light would be a time called the dark ages when spirituality declines. During this time, there would be corrupt rulers, famine, and disease with earth calamities and destruction. Much like we have been hearing.
So 5,000 plus 3102 B.C.E. equals 1898 C.E. Well, just 120 years off. Not so much in the scheme of things. Certainly there are enough similarities to take note, but not enough to claim a specific 2012 connection. However, with the similarities of starting dates, let’s not rule it out completely, either!
Celestial Connection
Another ancient system that may point to 2012 is the Chinese book of the I Ching (Book of Changes). It’s one of the oldest Chinese texts and is an oracle used through the ages. It’s based on a formula that is unknown in present times. Before his death in 2000, New Age theorist Terrence McKenna believed he found the formula. His work in the 1970s involved the use of fractal mathematics, which led to a formula he called “time wave zero.” Using this approach with the I Ching, he independently came to the date 2012 as the end of the world. You can read about his theories at www.alternativeculture.com.
The Least You Need to Know
◆ The Hopi prophecy has nine signs of its completion. We are well through eight of them.
◆ The Nostradamus quatrains predict earthquakes, famine, war, and other signs of destruction during the end times.
◆ Biblical end times also share the same descriptions of destructive events as did the Mayan and other prophecies.
◆ Edgar Cayce predicted earth changes, melting ice caps, war, famine, and disease in the end times. His prediction time frame was the end of the twentieth century.
◆ In Hindu tradition, there are four ages; the present age is the fourth age of the Kali Yuga. It began in 3102 B.C.E. The end-time predictions and end-time dates are similar to the Mayan prophecy.
