When Ghosts Speak - Mary Ann Winkowski [104]
• Glass dish. This dish must have at least three separate, divided sections.
• Holy water. Pure holy water is best; placing a few drops in regular water will make all the water holy, but it won’t be as strong. While you should never use holy water intending to drive out an earthbound spirit, it is safe to use on a cursed person, object, or land.
• Powders. Choose any of these powders with protective benefits: garlic, sulfur, cosmic dust (available at metaphysical shops), or ashes from palm, birch, mountain ash, or pussy willow. To get ash from the trees, cleanse (with holy water) a glass pie plate or heat-resistant bowl. Burn the dried leaves or wood. Store the ash in a tightly sealed glass jar. Do not mix the ash of different trees; use a different jar for each type of ash.
• Herbs. Any of the following herbs are useful for removing negative energy: rosemary or pennyroyal, for strength, protection, and peace; celandine for protection, escape, and releasing entrapments; garlic for healing, exorcism, and protection; dill for protection and neutralizing envy; alfalfa for protection against money loss; vervain for protecting love or money and promoting healing.
• Oil. Use virgin olive oil or fragrant oils. You can purchase prepared oils in metaphysical shops. Some you may want to explore using include anise, bergamot, civet, drive away evil, five finger grass, free from evil, and geranium.
• Incense helps disintegrate negative energy and purify the atmosphere. Geranium, sweetgrass, sage, and frankincense are commonly used.
• Protective amulet, talisman, or totem. These objects can all be energized with stored psychic energy and used as protection against negative energy. I always use a cross or a rosary. If you choose to use one of these, or a saint’s medal or something similar, it should be blessed or contain a relic. If you have a new rosary, have it blessed by an ordained priest or minister. If you prefer to use some other symbol of protection, you can consider any of the following:
• An amulet is a natural object left in its virgin state such as a stone, gem, shell, or piece of wood. Common forms are pyramid, squares, and spheres. To energize an amulet, direct your thoughts, emotions, words, and breath toward it. Natural life forces such as sun, water, wind, rain, and lightning can also be used. An amulet that is worn on the body is constantly energized by the wearer’s emotions.
• A talisman is an inanimate object that brings changes in environment and lifestyles. It can be made from a piece of paper or handmade or created by the owner. It is constructed to attain definite results using symbols, astrological signs, hieroglyphs, or special words. To energize a talisman, gaze at it, rub it between your palms, and place it under the sun, stars, or near water. Once it is energized, it should be safely wrapped and carried or worn by the owner until it is ready to be used.
• A totem is an object, plant, or animal that serves as a sacred, personal talisman. Totems may appear in dreams or visions to warn individuals of danger, bring them strength, heal their bodies, or bring them abundance. Symbols of your totem can be worn on your body or clothing, or carried.
• Guard stones. During negative energy removal, keep one of these stones with you for additional protection: amethyst, black tourmaline, malachite, obsidian, or turquoise.
Remember: It is very important to cleanse each object after each use.
How to Remove Negative Energy from a Person
Although this can be done anywhere, it is easiest if you have a table to place your items on and a chair for the person to sit on.
1. Ask permission of the person to remove the negative energy. The person does not have to believe in what you are doing but must give you permission.
2. Place yourself in the white Light (see page 214).
3. Light
